Ro-RO Ceremony at Iskenderun

In March 2012 InfraMed acquired a 20% stake in Iskendurn Port in Turkey’s southern province of Hatay with a leading infrastructure investor, Limak Yatirim.

Construction works on the port have progressed well and on 9 December 2012 Iskenderun Port held a ceremony to announce the commencement of its Roll-on Roll-off (“Ro-Ro”) ferry service.

The Ro-Ro ferry services from Iskenderun Port are expected to serve as an alternative transportation instrument for wheeled cargo and passengers from the Gulf countries being transported through Syria by land.

Three members of the government, namely the Ministers of Transport, of Justice, and of Customs and Trade, attended the ceremony.

His Excellency Mr Hayati Yazici, Turkey’s Minister of Customs and Trade, delivered a speech highlighting Iskenderun’s role in growing Turkey’s trade volumes in the region.

Limak was represented by Mr Nihat Ozdemir, Chairman of Limak Holdings, Mrs Ebru Ozdemir, Chairman of Limak Yatirim, and Mr Serdai Bacaksiz, Vice Chairman of Limak Yatirim. Marian Bocek, Associate Director, attended the event on behalf of InfraMed.
